The Travelling Pentaxian: Albay

We were supposed to be going to Batanes. But our flights were cancelled, 2 weeks straight!

I will be coming over soon, Batanes! Don’t you go anywhere!

So instead of Batanes, our team went to the region of Gata, Sili, at Bulkan! Bicol Region. Specifically Albay, Legazpi City. It’s not my first time here. But its always great visiting here.

NEWSFLASH — We were at the Lignon Hill, mereĀ  hours before that fateful accident. Thank God, we were spared.

Hidalgo somewhat decongested

This is the Hidalgo Street, Quiapo I kinda remember.

A streetĀ  open for pedestrians, vehicle free, ukay-ukay less. With camera and supplies shop left and right.

And this was yesterday! Amazing day! Apparently, local authorities have been clearing up this street of illegal vendors.

Even those illegal sidewalk vendors could be arrested if the police come by, but they can run fast with their wares. The ones formerly in the middle of the street, they sell ukay ukay, cheap electric and electronic gadgets, cookware, vegetables, and everything else in between, they can’t dismantle their stuff and run as fast. So off they go to find ‘greener pastures’.

Regarding the photo, no the building in the left isn’t leaning, or at least I hope it isn’t. Its barrel distortion from my da16-45 f4 lens.

And speaking of lenses, here are some lenses I saw on my Quiapo Hunt:

smcp m 28 2.8 (nice glass, not very nice cosmetics)

smcp k 120 2.8 (pristine condition!)

smcp m 150 3.5 (fungi infested front element, but very nice body! a little CLA and it’ll look brand new)

f 28-80

f35-70

fa80-320

but I’m not saying which stores I found them! So there…

Happy Hunting!
